Location: Chiang Mai| Status: Full Time| Report to: Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Manager
Are you a professional passionate about making a difference? REACH for Equity is seeking a MEL Coordinator who will be based in Chiang Mai, Thailand and is responsible for designing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation systems to assess the effectiveness and impact of our emergency response, humanitarian, and livelihood programs. The role will have a strong background in M&E methodologies, excellent data analysis skills, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to diverse stakeholders. This position will report to MEL Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
- A Master’s level or equivalent in public health, development studies, social sciences, economics, or other relevant field. Advanced research training is an asset.
- Over five years of hands-on experience in research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning within health, humanitarian, or development programs, with a proven track record in leading evaluations and research studies as primary investigator.
- Extensive expertise in designing and implementing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research and evaluation approaches.
- Strong research and analytical skills, including experience in implementation research, operational research, outcome harvesting, and thematic reviews.
- Demonstrated ability to translate evidence into actionable insights and support program adaptation and decision-making processes.
- Proven experience in facilitating learning processes such as reflection sessions, After Action Reviews, and cross-project learning synthesis.
- Strong experience in developing high-quality reports, learning briefs, and presentations tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solid understanding of MEL systems, including Theory of Change, log frames, indicator development, and evaluation frameworks aligned with donor requirements.
- Experience in managing research processes, including consultant management, budgeting, quality assurance, and ethical compliance (e.g., IRB processes, informed consent).
- Proven ability to build capacity of MEL team and partners in research, data use, and adaptive management, including participatory and locally led approaches.
- Strong coordination and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with NGOs, community-based organizations, donors, and academic partners.
- Proficient in using data collection tools such as ODK, Kobo, or similar platforms for digital data collection.
- Skilled in statistical and data analysis using software such as Excel, SPSS, Stata, R, or Python.
- Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo or Atlas.ti.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio is an advantage.
- Experience working in fragile, conflict-affected, or low-resource settings with strong sensitivity to ethical and cultural considerations.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong academic writing and communication skills.
