Reporting to: Country Manager of Restore Nature (Thailand) Limited
Restore Nature (Thailand) Limited (“RNT”) seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Project Manager. This role will be primarily responsible for coordinating people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results, including development of detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation, and budget management.
RNT was established in June 2023 under the New Forests Tropical Asia Forest Fund 2 which is managed by New Forests Asia (Singapore) Pte Ltd. The overall goal of the company is to originate and manage high integrity and high-quality nature-based solutions carbon projects that will deliver positive climate, community, and biodiversity benefits.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors to successfully execute the projects.
- Work together with RNT’s Country Manager to develop projects scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Track project progress, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Work closely with stakeholders including but not limited to the Thai government (e.g., Department of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP), Royal Forest Department (RFD), Royal Irrigation Department (RID), Department of Water Resources (DWR)), relevant NGOs, local authorities, and local communities.
- Work closely with the Country Manager on marketing of carbon credits to be generated from RNT’s project(s).
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Draft project related reports as required.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Skills and Experience:
- The project manager should have at least 3 years’ experience of managing nature-based project(s).
- The project manager should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks; a team player; and have strong critical thinking skills and a problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong educational background, preferably with at least a master’s degree in the fields of forestry, watershed management, civil engineering, or other relevant fields.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and to execute short to long-term projects, with minimal supervision, and taking ownership of the role.
- Possess the utmost professionalism when handling confidential matters and delicate situations.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with senior key stakeholders and their broader teams, as well as external parties and suppliers.
- Ability to offer and receive constructive feedback in a respectful and effective manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) in local language (Thai) and in English.
- Willingness to travel within Thailand (including to rural places).
