The Life Skills Development Foundation (TLSDF), a registered Thai non-profit and non-governmental organization (NGO), and a pioneer member of CRC Asia aims to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children and their families and empowering the individuals and groups responsible for ensuring the basic rights of children (survival, protection, development, and participation) in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is seeking one SUFASEC’s coordinator to place with TLSDF’s office in Chiang Mai, Thailand. By becoming part of our team, you will work with a strong child rights-focused CSO network and several groups of child rights youth activists in upper northern Thailand supporting them to “Step Up the Fight Against Sexual Exploitation of Children” and advocate for their entitled reproductive rights. In this position, you can also engage in a fruitful exchange of child rights expertise in Asia and International innovative and progressive networks such as CRC Asia, CONXION, DEFENCE for Children and ECPAT, FREE A GIRL, PLAN INTERNATIONAL, Terre des homme Netherlands.

Background

The overall impact statement of the ‘Step Up the Fight Against Sexual Exploitation of Children’ (SUFASEC) program is “children in all their diversity are better protected against sexual exploitation.” The long-term impact will be reached through three interlinking objectives: 1) Children, youth, and their communities successfully challenge social norms and harmful practices related to SEC; 2) Children and youth have access to and are supported by strengthened assets and protective environments; 3) Children and civil society meaningfully participate in holding duty bearers, including government and local authorities, accountable to their obligations towards improved (implementation of) laws, policies, and systems. SUFASEC is running for 3 years in 12 countries, from the 1st of March 2023 to the 28th of February 2026 with support from The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The TLSDF’s SUFASEC Coordinator is a new position sitting with TLSDF’s project team and the project country team within the governance structure of the SUFASEC program. This person will work closely with the TLSDF’s SUFASEC Manager representing TLSDF to serve child rights-focused CSO network and several groups of child rights youth activists in upper northern Thailand.

Role and responsibilities

The TLSDF’s SUFASEC Coordinator’s role is to coordinate and assist the project manager to implement the project activities and advocacy tasks with the Lanna Child Rights Coalition (LCRC)’s thematic working groups and partnering organizations at local communities of three provinces in upper northern Thailand; Maehongson, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai.

His or Her main responsibilities are;

  1. Set detailed activities to plan in carrying out SUFASEC activities and conduct advocacy events, monitoring and evaluating its progress against the scheduled tasks and activities.
  2. Coordinate with prioritized LCRC’s child rights thematic working groups, child rights youth activist groups (CRYA), and relevant organizations in organizing activities as planned.
  3. Supervise other project personnel regarding SUFASEC activities with the LCRC secretariat team and representatives of LCRC’s member organizations.
  4. Prepare all the required official letters and project progress reports
  5. Coordinate and operate with relevant government agencies regarding the SUFASEC program’s activities
  6. Onsite monitoring with LCRC’s child rights thematic working groups, child rights youth activist groups (CRYA), and relevant organizations
  7. Provide designed sessions facilitation as planned with the TLSDF’s project team
  8. Conduct training and facilitation sessions according to the approved plan of action with technical support from the SUFASEC program’s consultants

Requirements

  • University degree in any field relevant to the work described above
  • High proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Thai and English
  • A demonstrable commitment to Children’s Rights, Human Rights with a focus on anti-sexual exploitation of children programs with NGOs are a strong asset
  • Strong interest in cross-cut gender, environment, and conflict into all aspects of work
  • Proven ability to think strategically, use own initiative and act responsibly
  • Excellent presentation and networking skills, and facilitation skills are an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability in time management, schedule organization, and resource management, readiness to follow administrative standards and procedures
  • Skilled in project cycle management, monitoring & evaluation, and readiness to familiarize with TLSDF’s planning and monitoring methods
  • Identification with TLSDF’s values and objectives

COMPENSATION:  27,500 to 30,000 Baht per month with 5% national insurance and a 5% severance fund to match your salary. You will have 10 days of annual leave per year exclusive of sick leave and personal business leave. TLSDF will cover your food allowance, all costs of your transportation, and accommodation in all approved trip requests and reports. Our office has 2 cars to serve all staff land travelling for work purposes, and you will have training and development opportunities with a diverse and experienced team.

STARTING:   15 September 2025 / The first contract is offered from 15 September 2025 until March  2026. The duty station is in Chiang Mai.
